Having always loved graphics and vintage signage, it was moving into my first home, a 40’ narrowboat called Morgana that sparked a love of signwriting. From painting my own boat to painting others while I studied at English at University, I frequently had a paintbrush in hand! I spent over a decade pursuing a ‘proper career’ as an English teacher and school librarian, painting Shakespeare quotations on my classroom walls but it was when painting signs for my own wedding that I realised I’d been neglecting a passion and set about retraining and honing my skills.

I live and work in rural Cambridgeshire, based in the lovely village of East Hatley near the Bedfordshire border. The studio is also occupied by several cats who stop by periodically for scritches and snacks.
